OK, so this isn’t exactly a ‘business’ tool – though you could use it to make a very funky set of directions to get to your offices! But as a ‘water cooler’ review it’s perfect. A clever company called Teehan+lax have mashed together Google Streetview with a time-lapse app to create Google Streetview Hyper-lapse. It’s not massively intuitive to use; when it launches the app will start loading one of the featured routes to show you what is possible. You can cancel that then drag the start and finish points around to make a new route – or use the search box to jump to a new location entirely. Annoyingly if you set Pointer A then search again you lose the first mark so you have to find your destination by hand. As the hyper-lapse builds the tips tool informs you that long straight roads will serve up the best results and this couldn’t be more true! My first attempt, taking the country route from my house to my brother’s would make even the sturdiest traveller car sick. Here’s one the company made earlier:
