And so it is finally here. After months of writing, weeks of preparation and almost two-decades of storing away nuggets of information in the tumbling, churning grey cells of my brain: Welcome to Working the Cloud. This coming week will see the formal launch of the book, with a virtual book-signing on the 20th March and the official launch party for media, friends and family on Friday 22nd. I wish I could invite you all as those who have followed my work over the past weeks, months and in some cases even years, have been a huge influence and support in the way my career has evolved. It sounds cheesy I know, but I couldn’t do it without you. Writing can be a lonely pursuit and you help to keep me sane through the social channels where you offer feedback, advice and more than often discover all the amazing content I have the opportunity to share with the world.
If you’ve already grabbed a copy of the book really hope you’re enjoying it as well as finding it useful. Don’t forget to check out the Aurasma augmented reality cover. Just download the free Aurasma app on Apple or Android devices, fire it up and point it at the cover of the book (you can even do this on the digital cover if you point it at the image on this page!)… If you hold the book steady you’ll see me pop out of the front of the cloud and then start breaking up the letters of the title before ripping the front cover off to give you a sneak peek inside! Put on your headphones if you want to fully enjoy the promo edit by my amazing editor and friend, Carel Nell.
There are free apps to support this website too (due out 20/3) – just search for Working the Cloud in the App Store and Playstore after the official launch this Wednesday to find and download on iOS and Android. There’s more in the ‘About’ pages but they are definitely worth the download if you want to get video updates and even have the occasional chat with me about online tools and resources for small businesses.
The last thing I’d ask you to do is sign up for the newsletter on this website. There’s only a little content here today but through the months and years ahead I’ll be posting regular features, reviews, news and even video tutorials and walk-through guides. I hope this will become the number one destination for people who want to start making good use of the Internet to help run their business. So if you want to know what’s going on the newsletter will deliver a regular digest right into your inbox.
I will leave you with the promo film I made to let people know about the digital features around the book launch, including how to get your copy of Working the Cloud signed this Wednesday 20th March (and if you like the Powtoon film I’ll be doing a video tutorial on making your own film once the dust has settled around all the launch activities this week).
