I am feeling completely spoilt this week – not only did I enjoy a trip to the Shorty Awards in New York, followed by a flying visit to Brussels to host a discussion about child safety online for the Internet Watch Foundation, but to promote my keynote speech at next week’s Internet World conference in Earls Court, Oakley Mobile have made a completely awesome piece of AR and attached it to the cover of Working the Cloud! So, that’s two pieces of AR on my book cover – you don’t get much more high tech than that in the book publishing world!
To view the AR just download the free Internet World apps for Android or iOS (the links for this are on the Oakley website), launch the AR feature and point it at the book cover (if you don’t have the book you can use a digital image from your computer screen to trigger it, but it’s much more impressive if you print it out from the link on the Oakley website as you can wave your hand around behind mini-me and move the phone around for the full augmented reality effect).
Enjoy! And hopefully I will see some of you for my keynote at Internet World next week.
Photos from the Shorty Awards – I might have lost out on winning the award to the amazing work of Tim Pool (pictured here being robbed of his hunk of fancy glass), but there is more than one way to skin a cat as the saying goes!
