You don’t even need your own tank thanks to Aquard.io. This virtual aquarium lets visitors queue up to be the next to feed these lovely tropical fish – and it makes a pretty good adornment for your screen too, with 2 cameras you can switch between. Some geeky details about the system; it uses an Arduino board to operate an automatic feeder that rotates and drops food whenever a user interacts via the web app. It’s an ingenious contraption and as a bonus means the developers never have to remember to feed the fish again. If you’ve ever wondered what people mean when they say ‘the Internet of Things’, this is a perfect example.
